How to Style Western Boots for Women

With dresses and skirts. Tall embroidered shafts are made to be seen, so choose a hem that ends above the boot. A western dress or skirt with cream or ivory boots is a common pick for a country wedding or a bridal shower. Add turquoise jewelry for color.

With jeans. Bootcut jeans go over the shaft and show only the toe and heel, which suits plain brown and square toe pairs. Skinny or straight legs tuck in when you want the stitching on display.

With shorts and tees. For concerts and festival days in the Arizona heat, wear colored boots with shorts and a cowgirl graphic tee, then finish with a cowboy hat. Hats are shaped free at the Hat Bar in Tempe and Scottsdale.

Picking a Color

Brown, tan and caramel go with most of a closet. Black is the easy choice for nights out. White, cream and ivory lean bridal. Turquoise, red and baby blue are the statement colors, so keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the boots do the work.

Not sure about fit? Check the size guide. For short shafts see western booties, for our featured list see best-selling women’s cowgirl boots, and for little ones there are kids’ boots.

Cowgirl Boots FAQ

What do you wear with cowgirl boots?

Dresses, skirts, shorts and jeans all work. Match the boot to the event: plain brown for the rodeo, color or embroidery for a concert, cream or white for a wedding.

Do cowgirl boots go over or under jeans?

Both. Bootcut jeans are cut to sit over the shaft. Tuck slimmer jeans in when the boot has embroidery or studs worth showing.

Can you wear cowgirl boots to a wedding?

Yes. White, cream and ivory pairs such as Wild Heart White or Prairie Cream are the usual choice under a dress.

Can I see them in person?

Yes. We have two Arizona stores: Last Rodeo Tempe on Mill Ave and Last Rodeo Scottsdale in Old Town. Each store carries its own stock, so phone 602-885-6438 before you make the trip for a particular pair.

Do you ship cowgirl boots outside the US?

Yes. See worldwide shipping for details. Inside the US, orders over $100 ship free, and we accept returns within 30 days.
