How to Choose a Western Belt

Start with where the belt will sit. The two Stetson Southwestern belts have a slim 3/4 inch top grain leather strap, and the Stetson croco print and suede belts taper from 1 3/8 inches to 1 inch, so check the strap width against your belt loops. The two chain belts are lightweight and adjustable, and work over western dresses, skirts or jeans. The Desert Horse belt has a removable buckle, so you can swap in one of our belt buckles. The Sunflower belt is unisex; there are more in men’s western belts.

Belt Sizing and Prices

The Stetson leather belts list this size guide: S fits 28 to 30, M fits 32 to 34, L fits 36 to 38 and XL fits 40 to 42, measured to the center hole, with five adjustment holes. Sizes for every other belt are on its product page.

What is a concho belt?

A concho is a round or oval decorative metal disc. On a concho belt the discs are set along a leather strap or linked together with a chain.

Can I change the buckle on a western belt?

Only on belts made with a removable buckle. The Desert Horse hand-tooled belt has one, and you can pair it with a buckle from our buckles collection.

Can I wear a concho belt over a dress?

Yes. The chain styles are made to go over dresses, skirts or denim.
