Precise, colorful and unmistakably Zuni. This Native American made sterling silver Zuni inlay bolo tie is built in channel inlay, with hand-cut pieces of turquoise, mother of pearl, and black and red stone fitted edge to edge into a keystone-shaped slide. The design stacks five bands of geometric pattern: a row of turquoise and shell triangles across the top, a stylized figure framed by black and white stepped panels, a turquoise and black striped band, a red and shell band, and a bold turquoise triangle panel at the base.
Polished silver bars divide each band, and twisted rope wire runs down both sides. The slide measures about 2 1/4 inches tall by 1 1/2 inches wide at the top, tapering to about 1 inch at the bottom. The back is stamped Zuni, N.M. with the artist's hallmark, and the slide rides on a black braided leather cord finished with silver tips.
