The Stetson Boss of the Plains is the hat that started it all. John B. Stetson designed the original in the 1860s for life out West, and it became the blueprint for the American cowboy hat. Today every Boss of the Plains is still made the old-fashioned way – hand-dyed, hand-shaped and hand-distressed in Garland, Texas – so each one comes out with its own color, character and worn-in patina.
Built from premium 6X quality fur felt, it has a classic 4 5/8" cattleman crown, a 4" brim, a signature leather hat band that's unique to every hat, a genuine leather sweatband and a satin liner. It's rugged enough for the ranch and sharp enough for town, a concert or a night out in Old Town Scottsdale.
