Heavy, open and all handwork. This Native American made sterling silver bolo tie is sandcast, an old Southwestern technique where molten silver is poured into a hand-carved mold, leaving the soft textured finish you see in the recesses. The round slide is cast as an open wheel, with a ring of scalloped loops around the outside and a silver cross dividing the center into four windows.
At the center sits an oval turquoise stone with dark matrix, set in a twisted rope bezel on a keystone-shaped silver plate. The back is signed BK and stamped Sterling, and the slide rides on a black braided leather cord finished with long silver tips.
